Community Guidelines

PhotoGym is a space for photographers who want to improve through practice, feedback, discussion, and community support.

To keep the Club useful, respectful, and safe for everyone, all members are expected to follow these Community Guidelines when posting photos, commenting, joining discussions, creating polls, or interacting with other members.

By using the PhotoGym Community, you agree to participate in a constructive, respectful, and photography-focused way.

Feedback is one of the most valuable parts of PhotoGym.

When commenting on someone’s photo, aim to be helpful rather than judgmental. A good critique should explain what works, what could be improved, and why.

Instead of writing only:

“I don’t like this photo.”

Try something more useful, such as:

“The composition is interesting, but the subject could stand out more if the background were less distracting.”

Respectful critique helps everyone grow.

Please focus your comments on the image itself, not on the person who created it.

Avoid personal remarks, sarcasm, insults, or dismissive comments. Every photographer has a different level of experience, style, background, and creative goal.

A strong community is built on honest feedback delivered with respect.

Whenever possible, try to include both positive observations and suggestions for improvement.

The goal is not to “judge” a photo, but to help the photographer understand how the image communicates and how it might be made stronger.

Do not upload images that you did not create or that you do not have permission to use.

If you post a photo, you confirm that you own it or have the necessary rights and permissions to share it within the PhotoGym Community.

Photos shared inside the PhotoGym Community are meant to stay within the community.

Do not download, copy, screenshot, repost, publish, or share another member’s photo outside PhotoGym without their explicit permission.

Respecting members’ work and privacy is essential.

PhotoGym is a photography-focused community.

Please upload photography-related images only and keep discussions connected to photography, learning, creativity, visual storytelling, editing, equipment, technique, projects, challenges, or community feedback.

Off-topic content may be removed.

PhotoGym is intended to be a safe and professional learning environment.

Do not upload or share adult, explicit, graphic, offensive, or inappropriate content. Images that are not suitable for a general photography learning community may be removed.

If you are unsure whether an image is appropriate, choose not to upload it or contact PhotoGym before posting.

Please avoid uploading large video files directly to the community.

If you want to share a video related to photography — for example, a behind-the-scenes clip, editing demonstration, camera setup, or lighting explanation — please use an external link instead.

This helps keep the community faster, lighter, and easier to use for everyone.

Polls can be a useful way to collect feedback, choose challenge themes, compare editing options, or ask meaningful photography-related questions.

Please use polls only when they add real value to the community.

Good examples include:

Polls that are off-topic, repetitive, unclear, or low-value may be removed.

Please do not use the community to post spam, repetitive promotional messages, or unrelated links.

Self-promotion is allowed only when relevant, respectful, and not excessive.

Do not post affiliate links, referral links, paid promotions, or commercial offers without permission from PhotoGym.

PhotoGym may remove promotional content that does not fit the purpose of the community.

Do not share private information about yourself or others.

Avoid posting:

When photographing people, especially in private or sensitive contexts, make sure you have the appropriate permission to share the image.

PhotoGym welcomes photographers at different levels.

Some members may be experienced. Others may be taking their first serious steps into photography.

Please be patient, helpful, and encouraging. A beginner’s question is never a problem if it is asked in good faith.

The purpose of PhotoGym is improvement, not perfection.

PhotoGym may remove content, comments, polls, links, or uploads that violate these guidelines or that negatively affect the community experience.
